Consign or Sell Important Works of African American Art
Black Art In America is always interested in learning about exceptional works entering the secondary market. We welcome inquiries regarding premium consignments and, in select cases, the possible outright purchase of important works by legacy, historical, and blue-chip African American artists.
Our focus is on works of distinction with strong authorship, provenance, condition, rarity, and relevance to the artist’s career or the broader history of African American art.
We welcome inquiries from:
- Private collectors
- Families and estates
- Institutions
- Art advisors and dealers
- Authorized representatives of an artwork or collection
We consider significant paintings, works on paper, fine-art prints, photography, sculpture, mixed-media works, and other collectible objects by established artists.

Submission Review
All inquiries are reviewed selectively. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, consignment, valuation, or purchase. Due to the volume of inquiries we receive, BAIA may only respond when an artwork or collection appears to be a potential fit.
Please do not call for a status update, visit the gallery with artwork, or ship or deliver artwork without prior written authorization. In-person appointments are scheduled only after images and documentation have been reviewed.
Additional documentation, condition reports, or independent authentication may be required before a consignment or acquisition agreement can be considered.
Placing Important Art With Purpose
Through our gallery, digital platform, exhibitions, fairs, and national collector network, Black Art In America works to place important African American art with collectors and institutions prepared to value, preserve, and steward its legacy.
We appreciate the opportunity to consider significant works from your collection.
