Coca-Cola Expands Its Collection With Major Acquisitions From Black Art In America

Black Art In America™ (BAIA) is proud to announce the acquisition of two significant artworks by The Coca-Cola Company for its permanent corporate fine art collection: Re BORN #17 by Jamele Wright Sr. and Aspirations of Legacy by Najee Dorsey. These additions mark another milestone in the flourishing relationship between BAIA and Coca-Cola, reflecting a shared commitment to championing the arts, uplifting African American artists and recognizing the power of cultural storytelling.

The acquisitions include:

  • Re BORN #17 by Jamele Wright Sr. — A dynamic mixed-media textile work exploring memory, migration, and transformation. Wright’s practice draws from African and African American material traditions, connecting personal history to broader cultural narratives.

  • Aspirations of Legacy by Najee Dorsey — A photomontage that celebrates Southern heritage and the pursuit of generational legacy. Dorsey is widely recognized for his vibrant and layered visual storytelling.

“Its quite the honor to have our works in conversation with artworks by other important artists within Coca-Cola’s permanent collection,” said Najee Dorsey, Founder and CEO of Black Art In America. “Our ongoing partnership speaks to a meaningful commitment—from both organizations—to preserve, uplift, and expand the visibility of Black visual culture.”

The Coca-Cola Company’s continued engagement with BAIA underscores the corporation’s dedication to collecting contemporary works that reflect the diversity, creativity, and cultural impact of Black artists working today.
