Unapologetic: Art Beyond Borders" brings together five dynamic artists—, Larry "Poncho" Brown, David Wilson, Najee Dorsey, Marlon Hitchcock, and Akinola Taoheed—whose mixed media collages and photomontages celebrate the depth, beauty, and resilience of our global diasporic culture. With their bold use of materials and innovative techniques, these artists push the boundaries of the collage and photomontage mediums to create works that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.

The exhibition explores the multifaceted nature of identity and the lived Black experience, inviting viewers to engage with the Black image as both a symbol of empowerment and an expression of cultural authenticity. The exhibit interrogates aspects of history, tradition, and modernity while celebrating the rich visual language of the Black aesthetic. From vibrant colors and bold imagery that echo heritage to soulful portraits that tell stories of perseverance and pride, this collection challenges viewers to both connect with the familiar and recognize the brilliance in their differences.
