Coca Cola Company Acquires A Tracy Mims For Collection
The Atlanta headquarters of the Coca Cola company has recently acquired an artwork by BAIA-represented artist, Traci Mims. Mims is an Atlanta-based, multidisciplinary artist who specializes in social surrealism, her works often depicting monumental figures and stories along with her own image as a symbol to convey relevant cultural narratives. A graduate of Florida A&M University (BA) and Tyler School of Art, Temple University (MFA), Mims’ work has been shown regionally and nationally and, in 2023, she won the prestigious Atlanta Biennial McCain Award for Printmaking.
Mims, along with BAIA founder & CEO, Najee Dorsey, also recently had respective works acquired by private collectors through a private showing in February at Coca-Cola featuring works by seven artists. One of the country’s leading artrepreneurs, and a highly-accomplished artist, Dorsey employs mixed-media, collage, paint and photographic works in his visual representations of the southern African American experience.
BAIA’s ongoing relationship with Coca Cola was brokered by Ashley Lee, the company’s Vice President, Executive Counsel & Chief of Staff. An avid collector of art, Lee has worked for the iconic beverage company for over a decade.
