The FIVE Spot: Music

Connecting through Art

Five works of art. One theme. The FIVE Spot.

This week’s theme at the FIVE Spot is Music as we present five works of art connected by images celebrating jazz, blues, and the culture of music. These vivid offerings capture the essence of our universal language with abstract imagery, vibrant colors, jazzy figures, featured instruments, and bluesy relationships. Each piece, abstract or figurative, conveys a story of a musical moment be it a culturally-based depiction of music’s impact on our lives and relations, or the poignant presentation of a sole instrument.

Together, these five works of art remind us of the powerful and essential role music fulfills as the soundtrack of our lives. The rendering artists include Joseph Holston, Najjar Abdul-Musawwir, Lisa Cain, Yesrod, and Gordon Parks.

We encourage you to take at least five minutes to view them, study them, and connect with them.

That way, you can see which ones hit the spot.
