BLACK ART IN AMERICA™ (BAIA) proudly announces its second Atlanta Fine Art Print Fair, set to captivate art enthusiasts and collectors alike from August 9th to 11th at the prestigious Black Art In America Gallery and Sculpture Garden in East Point, GA.
Following the success of last year’s groundbreaking event, this year’s fair promises an unparalleled showcase of fine art printmaking and process. Showcasing a curated selection from icons such as Elizabeth Catlett, Romare Bearden, Hale Woodruff, David Driskell, Lou Stoval, John Biggers, and James Wells, to contemporary visionaries such as Steve Prince, Traci Mims, Curlee Holton and Jamaal Barber to name a select few.
“We are ecstatic for the fair this year, we are the only print fair in the nation, focused on celebrating African American Printmakers” says BAIA founder Najee Dorsey, noting that “we are in the process of cataloging hundreds of works in preparation for the fair.” and that “Many of which are from the secondary market and haven’t been seen outside of private collections in over two decades…”
Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage directly with artists and master printmakers through interactive demonstrations and workshops by the fairs featured artists, including MTV, The Smithsonian Channel, and Ted Talk appearing artist and Studio Noize Podcast host Jamaal Barber, internationally exhibiting artist, and top performer of last year's print fair Traci Mims, as well as nationally renowned artist and educator Steve Prince. All in all creating an environment where collectors in all stages of their journey can learn and collect with confidence.
This Print fair is Free and open to the public, a percentage of art proceeds from the fair’s opening day will support the BAIA Foundation, a 501c3 organization facilitating the growth of artists while cultivating the relationships and opportunities that bring Black artists and communities together.
