PINK ladies by Sofia McDaniels

Join us at the New Freedom Studios for a special sharing of new work by visual artist and Praise House Project Summer Intern, Sofia McDaniels, the daughter of our beloved Dr. Pellom McDaniels III.

Thursday, August 3rd @ 7-9om
New Freedom Studio
659 Auburn Avenue, NE, Suite G6
Atlanta, Georgia 30312

To culminate her internship, Charmaine and Cienna Minniefield invited Sofia to work alongside them in their studio space in the Studioplex on Auburn Avenue, to complete and present her current body of work, PINK ladies. We are so proud of her accomplishments and we are excited for her future as a visual artist!

PINK ladies

by Sofia McDaniels

"This body of work is a wish fulfillment for four year old Sofia, who refused to join a soccer team because the uniforms weren’t pink. PINK ladies is exactly as it sounds, consisting of portraiture where the pink underpainting remains prevalent and equally as important as the subject(s) within the piece."

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sofia McDaniels is currently pursuing her BFA in painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and plans to graduate in 2026. After college she plans to attend graduate school abroad (and sleep). She served as one of the first Praise House Project interns in 2023.
